Ideus con Javi Conde en el maratón solidario

On 27 December, Javi Conde and Jon Salvador will run a 42.195km-marathon under the Bilbao river estuary, 26 metres deep, in the Wastewater Collector.

This is a very ambitious challenge which combines both sport and solidarity and this is why we did not hesitate to act as sponsors under own brand, Ideus.

The project is promoted by Paralympic athlete Javi Conde, with ample experience. If you have not heard of him, read on to find out more about the career of this great Spanish sportsman.

Javi has won 7 gold medals and 2 silver medals in five Paralympic Games, as well as numerous world records and titles. In 2009 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit. His brilliant sports success does not end with the abovementioned awards. He is also ambassador of the Laureus Foundation Spain, together with another 14 major names in Spanish sport, such as Vicente del Bosque, Pep Guardiola, Almudena Cid, Marc Márquez, among others.

This Foundation avails of the power of sport to help children and young people living in disadvantaged circumstances. There is no doubt that the athlete is first rate.

However, Conde does not run alone. He is accompanied on each challenge by Jon Salvador, a veteran long distance runner who has been doing athletics for over 30 years. Jon has taken part in the World and European Police and Fire Games and won a total of 20 gold medals and 2 world records. He was also declared champion in the SaharaMarathon 2010 as well as winner of the Spanish Championship for Veteran Athletes in 2008.

Well, what do you think? Will you be joining these two devourers of kilometres? They have spent six years on an international solidarity project consisting in running in marathons in the Olympic and Paralympic games and donating the money raised to different NGOs.

We have decided to associate ourselves with sport and solidarity and that is why we have joined forces with the Javi Conde Solidarity Marathon, this passionately unique challenge. What about you?
